Monday, Monday - What's new with you?
Saturday liz called in a tiny voice she was saying help me, help me. I am in so much pain, so I rushed over there and found her laying on the bathroom floor. She was having terrible stomach pains, she just kept saying it will pass it will pass. She so sounded like me when I had obstructions, I made her call her gastro enteroligist..yes, I can't spell. He told her to go to the hospital. So I stayed with the baby, her hubby took her in. all they found was some level that was high that suggested gall bladder.. she had an ultra sound last week because of this re accuring pain, but it didn't show any gall bladder problems. They have been under such attack lately, since losing her job she has been paying Cobra with her unemployment, it has gone up to over $400 a month, they called last friday saying she had been dropped for non-payment, but she has receipts for every ON TIME payment she has made. She said re-instate me !! They said we don't re-instate, how can they not?? Of course she said let me talk to a supervisor, they said she is in a meeting she will call you next week, yea, right. Such a mess. I had a great week-end.( except for poor daughters) saw the movie "Fireproof" it is fantastic. I made it to Curves twice last week, aiming for 3 times this week. Blessings

Lynn, her family, and friends will be in my prayers. My former boss, the 83 y/o *****tired in Nov. discovered a mass in his neck. It is a malignant lymphoma. He has opted for chemo. Surprising how meek and mild this news has made him. He is a three-time cancer survivor, hopefully, he can beat this one also.
I haven't been to a casino in over two years. Like you, I go with a set amount of money, usually $20.00, and when it's gone, so am I. If I get to the point where I've doubled my money, I walk. There have been a few times I've gone home a winner by $50.00 - $250.00, but more often I've blown $20.00.
Results of my mammogram came in the mail Sat. I refused to open it until last night. Figured if it was not good news, there was nothing I could do about it until today. Well, there are areas of calcification to be concerned about, nothing that needs immediate attention, but need to be watched. So, the news wasn't so bad. Considering my mom, one sister, and our daughter have problems, I will stay on top of this. George is much more concerned than I am 'cause his mom died of breast cancer when we were dating.
Speaking of George, he went for a follow up with the cardiologist Friday - no more restrictions. So what does he do - spent all day yesterday doing what he couldn't do around the house the last three weeks - gardening, cutting grass, washing the exterior of the house. I spent the day begging him to rest and take it easy.
Sat. we went to my sister and BIL's house for their St. Joseph Altar. It was spectacular! Confession - I did eat a couple of Italian cookies. Thankfully the large cakes on the altar were to be donated to the homeless shelter and were not cut!!! I would have caved for sure, they were almond flavored with white buttercream frosting, like wedding cake, my favorite. One was in the shape of a crufix, and two were like opened bibles - so beautiful.
Back to work!
Debbie

George....your life is a whirlwind. Makes me tired just reading about it...Ha! Since moving to Maui I have slowed down to "Maui time" and that is S L O W!!! When I go to the mainland I freak with the speed of traffic, people's movements, life in general. I am I fear now permanently a "slug."
Yesterday I was called into the hospital to finish a colleagues shift with testing the newborn babies hearing. She had an emergency. It was an interesting morning because I had 7 babies, and there was one with a severe cleft palate/lip, one with a deaf mother, and another only 5 lbs. Amazingly all three of these babies passed hearing test!! I was so happy to find that the little cleft palate baby could suck........I put a gloved finger in his mouth with sugar water on it...and he grabbed it like a trooper. That always worries me with these babies....will they be able to eat. Eventually that mouth will be fixed good as new...but in the meantime, he looks so pitiful and I feel sorry for the parents.
This morning I'm doing my time on the lanai in the sun!!! I missed it yesterday, and I'm needing to work on my tan. It's a glorious morning...although not light yet...I can see no clouds, and the ocean is smooth as glass.
My weight has come up a little to 160 for the past week or so. That is a good thing. I am 5'11" tall and 154 is too low for me. I like it when I don't see the bones in my chest...and that few extra pounds covers those up nicely. Unfortunately any more weight gain will go to it's favorite spot.....my BUH-TOCKS!!
It feels like Sunday for some reason....but it's MONDAY..my favorite day of the week. I LOVE new beginnings and that's what Monday has always meant to me. Let's hope this is a great week for everyone. I am as always so grateful to be a part of this little family....a true gift.
Aloha nui loa,
Maui Karen
Prayers are with your friend.
Well yesterday I drove 400 miles 200 to Melbourne and 200 back home. I thought My sister got off the boat yesterday and was going to Orlando. but she got off the boat this morning. I am going to go and meet up with her in a little while. Now another 106 mile drive to Orlando.
Talked to Eileen this morning and now I am vegging.
Well onward and forward.
Carla
George... I am so sorry to hear about your friend Lynn. Prayers are going up for her, her family and friends.
That is just so sad.
Congrats on coming ahead at the Casino. Glad you had a great day with your wife and son. You work so hard you deserve a day like that!
Eileen.....prayers continue for your friend Bruce. I feel so bad for him and his family.
Brenda....you cleaning dynamo...have fun!!!!!!
Everyone else know I am thinking good thoughts of you!!
My sister, Marn, is on her way back to Rochester/Mayo Clinic. She is having surgery on Wednesday to remove the cancer in her neck. The other growth they found is cancer too. Please keep her in your prayers.
It is raining like crazy here. We need it so everything gets cleaned up. Because of all the rain we are having a lot of flooding taking place. Those poor people in Fargo, ND. I know several people that are going there now to help sandbag. What a mess!!
I am back home once again. LOVE the peace and quiet. I had fun with the kids....most of the time..but I am glad to be home.
My daughter, Carrie called this morning and thanked me again for all I did around the house. She said it was so nice to spend the day yesterday with her kids and not have to clean...do laundry..or grocery shop. That was my whole intention. The kids really missed her and needed her time.
Carrie brought me back a beautiful top and necklace. I cried when I saw it. It is just perfect. She said she knew I would like it because she did and we both have very similar taste in clothes. What a sweetheart ...but the gift was so unnecessary.
I best get back to work...plenty to do now that I am in my own office once again. I have a stack of mail to go through as I knew I would!!
Special prayers to those in need.
Smile at someone new today...they will smile back. It might be just what they needed!
Love and hugs....connie d
I'm late getting on here....since I am going into work 1/2 hour earlier there isn't time to do my usual "stuff" and besides I overslept this morning so that made it doubly rushed.
I'm trying not to get completely overwhelmed with my work load, but it's hard to stare at those huge piles of pd files and only have 3 1/2 hrs to work on them. Today I only managed to get 10 discharges done.....one file had two folders each about 4 inches thick....that takes a whole lot of time going thru all that paper.
It's sunny here today, but the wind is really chilly. Our high school baseball starts tonite and track tomorrow nite. I have actually started parking clear across the parking lot at the bank and walking in.....good for me!
My bloodwork came back with extremely high levels of calcium, so PCP asked me to only take 3 citracal instead of 4/day....he also took me off the gout medicine as that made one of my tests come back high.....hopefully I won't have any gout attacks....
It was beautiful here yesterday....went out for supper at the local Chinese buffet with DS, DIL, and her Mom who is here for a couple days enroute to Florida. There wasn't a whole lot I could eat, but did peel and eat shrimp, some salad, and a couple bites of other stuff. Actually had a little tummy ache later.....
Well, I hear the kids getting out of school and I am going to go lay down and take a 20 min. rest....
Prayers for all in need,
Pat R.

Done! Your Ticker:
Thanks for such a warm welcome! I'm excited about being a part of this group, and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only cemetery crazy person here! I was in charge of compiling and transcribing the stones in the cemetery as part of a genealogical society. We did over 25,000 of the 65,000 burials. Quite a task! Many of the stones "sank" and had to be raised so we could transcribe them, and have since sunk again, so go for it, Jean!
Salt Lake City research!! Be sure you wear comfortable shoes, and have lots of bottled water with you, it's quite dry in the library. I never thought in a million years that one day I'd be standing in a long line outside a library waiting for it to open in the morning. Expect Karen, that your brain will be mush by the end of the day and that you will do things like step into the elevator and forget to press the button of the floor you want. Where was Richard Elijah Clark living during the Civil War? Do you know his parents' names?
Elaine
on to your destination.

I made my reservations last night Elaine. I'll stay in a little B and B type boutique hotel just a block or so from the library. I'll arrive at 9am on a Thursday and not leave til about 5pm the next Tuesday. I'm sure my brain will be totally mush by Sunday so will take that day off and do some sight seeing since the library closure will force me to! I hope to hear the choir at rehearsal and perhaps at the Sunday morning taping.
My Richard Elijah Clark was in Texas Co, MO when he enlisted in 1862. However, I find no sign of him in the 1860 census and do not know parents or siblings names. He married the widow of a war comrade in 1867 and move to Randolph Co, AR where she and her child were. He'd made a death bed promise to her husband to look after her.
I have war records, census records from 1880 but not much else. He gives TN as his birthplace on war records but one census 1880 says he was born in MO another says AR. . . I plan to really dig deeply on him. He was supposedly born in MO about 1843 but there are of course at least 7-8 Richard Clarks listed in the 1850 and 1860 TN census who could be him.
Sorry, other OFF family I should have PM's this. I get started and I forget that everyone doesn't enjoy this as much as I do!!
